Charitable Giving

Our Community

My Wife Lucy and I believe strongly in our community.  That is why we give back to the community as generously as we can.  Each year we organize or participate in some 15 charitable golf events. Being an avid golfer it makes sense to us that I should give back by way of my favorite sport. Last year alone, Lucy and I donated a little over $10,000 to various charitable events.

Golfing and Giving

Golf and charity seem to go hand in hand.  For instance, The PGA TOUR and its tournaments generated more than $180 million for charitable causes in 2017, surpassing 2016’s record amount by approximately $14 million. This total includes donations made by tournaments on the PGA TOUR, PGA TOUR Champions, Web.com Tour, Mackenzie Tour-PGA TOUR Canada, PGA TOUR Latinoamérica and PGA TOUR-China.

On a local level it is harder to quantify an amount, but local tournaments can generate tens of thousands of dollars to well over 2 million dollars on an annual basis.  Charities that benefit from these charitable events include Boys and Girls Clubs, Learn To Read, Special Olympics Florida, Arnold Palmer’s Children’s Hospital, Children’s Miracle Network, Toys for Tots, SOS Children’s Village, Barbara’s Friends, All Children’s Hospital, George Snow Scholarship Fund and the Florence Fuller Child Development Center.

Gift Basket Donated to Learn To Read St Lucie

The picture to the right is with me presenting a gift basket to a representative of Learn To Read Port St Lucie.  Learn To Read is a small, United Way funded agency that has been in existence since 1981.  They work with students who function at the lowest literacy level.  They are the only agency in St Lucie County that offer free one-on-one literacy services  to adults.

At Fire Equipment Services, we believe in their mission to make St Lucie County a better place to live, work and get an education.  For more information on Learn to Read please visit them at learntoreadslc.weebly.com.

Please give as generously as you can in your community.  It is greatly needed and always appreciated!
